on my way home from the mall last night, i passed by a homeless (i assumed) guy and his dog. the guy was unshaved and his clothes were dirty. he had a long hair and his bag was packed heavily. his dog brought such scene into the picture. he was a big, black and obviously loyal "askal" who also carried a bag on both sides of his chest.
the guy and the dog poignantly displayed love and true friendship. how many times and how many people have longed to have their burdens carried so affectionately? the two reminded me of the strong longing of every heart which is to have someone on your side whose love is so unconditional. who refuses to cast blame or judge the how's and why's of your burdens, but instead comes along and shoulders the load for you.
i guess there is always a privelege in being both the burdened and the burden bearer, to be needy and to be needed.
