consider your words.

"when words are many, sin is not absent. but he who holds his tongue is wise."

words are powerful. they can build up or tear down, create harmony or chaos, introduce hope or despair. the person who controls her tongue knows when to speak and when to be quiet. she doesn't always have to have the last word in every situation.

i have heard the term "holding your peace". people can do that, quite literally, when we control our tongues. many times, if people wait and see, God shows a better time. He'll open up an oppurtunity for us to speak in a non-destructive way.

let him give us the spirit of wisdom and patience and our words will be instruments of peace. :)
